Manage customer communication language
Communication language defines which language Activiteez uses for emails (confirmation, cancellation, reminders…) and ticket links for a contact. Once set on the customer record, it applies by default to later messages sent to that customer.
Note — Generic application labels (buttons, menus) on the mini-site and embedded widgets follow the visit language (URL parameter or browser). Communication language mainly affects personalized messages sent to the customer.
Language on the customer record
- Open Customers and display your contact list.
- Click the customer to open their customer record.
- In the identity block, find the Language field (tooltip: language of emails with customer).
- Choose the communication language from the languages offered.
- Save the record (Save).
This preference is stored on the contact and pre-fills Language on future bookings for that customer.
Language when booking
You can also set or change language when creating or editing a booking:
- From Schedule, open the activity and create or edit a booking for the customer.
- At the top of the booking form, select Language (same list as on the customer record).
- Confirm the booking.
The chosen language is stored on the booking and used for related emails. When saving a customer record, the same value updates the contact’s preferred language.
What the customer receives in their language
Depending on the chosen language:
- Transactional emails (confirmation, cancellation, payment request, etc.) are sent in that language when translated templates exist;
- Ticket links include the appropriate language parameter so opening the ticket from the email displays in the same language.
If no language is set, Activiteez uses the account default language.
Public pages and widgets
On the mini-site, an embedded booking area, or a ticket page, the general interface (menus, standard labels) may follow:
- the
langURL parameter (language code, often remembered for the session — e.g.?lang=en); - otherwise the browser language, with the default language if no recognized language is offered.
To steer visitors to a specific language from the start, add the lang parameter to your booking or embed links (see Embed Activiteez on your website).
Common issues
- Customer still receives emails in another language: check the customer record and the relevant booking — Language must match the desired language before the message is sent.
- Ticket displays in a different language than the email: open the ticket from the link in the email (it carries the language) rather than copying the URL without the parameter.
- Missing content translations (activity title, account description…): complete multilingual versions — see Translate activities and account content.
